Adult Circumcision
Adult circumcision is a minor surgical procedure that involves the removal of the foreskin (the fold of skin covering the head of the penis). While often performed in infancy for cultural or religious reasons, circumcision can also be done in adulthood for a variety of medical or personal reasons.
We perform adult circumcision in a comfortable outpatient setting in our Glens Falls office, serving patients across the Saratoga, Capital Region, and Adirondack areas.
Common Reasons for Adult Circumcision
Circumcision may be recommended or chosen for:

The Procedure

Performed in-office or in a surgical center depending on anatomy and complexity

Done under local anesthesia, with the option for oral anti-anxiety medication if discussed at your consultation

The procedure typically takes 30–60 minutes

Dissolvable sutures are used—no need for suture removal. You may also have some glue over the sutures that will fall off in the first few weeks on its own.
You’ll receive detailed instructions before and after the procedure to help you prepare and recover comfortably.
What to Expect Afterward

Swelling and bruising are normal in the first week

Some discomfort is expected and can be managed with over-the-counter or prescribed pain medications

You’ll need to avoid sexual activity, masturbation, and strenuous exercise for about 4–6 weeks

Most men return to non-strenuous work or daily activities within a few days. It is OK to shower after 24 hours but do not scrub the surgical site.
We provide thorough aftercare guidance and are available for any questions or concerns during your healing process.
Results and Expectations
Once fully healed, most men experience:

Resolution of prior symptoms (tightness, infections, etc.)

No change or a return to normal sexual function once recovery is complete
